Ooredoo telecom sponsor for Qatarق€™s Strongest Man

Ooredoo is the Official Telecommunications Sponsor of the 2019 edition of Qatar’s Strongest Man competition taking place today from 4pm at Aspire Park.

The challenge will see eight of Qatar’s strongest men compete. Strongmen over the age of 18 were invited to take part in preliminary rounds, from where the finalists qualified.

Fans can expect to see the strongmen taking on a range of challenges including truck pulling, sandbag lifting, weightlifting, giant tyre flipping and a Strongman challenge known as Conan’s Wheel, where contestants lift and push a heavily weighted pole.

Manar Khalifa al-Muraikhi, director Communications and PR at Ooredoo, said of the sponsorship: “Promoting health and fitness is a key part of our corporate social responsibility strategy, and we actively seek opportunities to support community events that align with this goal. We’re proud to be associated with this popular event, which sees contestants training throughout the year in preparation, and we hope it will inspire more Qatari citizens and residents to adopt a healthy, active lifestyle.” 

The event is open to all spectators and entry is free. There will be plenty for families to enjoy including a fan zone, a play area for children and a variety of local food and beverage stands.
