Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced today adoption of distance learning system for a period of one week, and suspension of attendance of all students in all public and private schools and kindergartens in Qatar, starting from Sunday, January 2, 2022.
The Ministry explained that this decision comes within the framework of its keenness to provide a safe school environment, and in view of the epidemiological conditions related to the Covid-19 pandemic, and the noticeable increase in the number of cases in community.
The Ministry indicated that this decision comes in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health, and in accordance with the precautionary and preventive measures and measures required by the public interest, taking into account the safety of students, teaching and administrative staff alike, and facilitating the examination procedures for the Corona virus.
In this context, it was decided that the administrative and educational staff would continue to attend schools and kindergartens.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education called on parents to cooperate and ensure that their sons and daughters receive lessons through the distance learning system.
