Northwesterly fresh to strong wind in Qatar expected from today

Doha: The Qatar Meteorology Department has forecast that the country is expected to be affected by northwesterly fresh to strong wind over most areas from today, August 4 to 7, 2020. 

The wind is expected to range between 12-22 kt gusting to 30 kt at times in some places during the daytime. The blowing dust will cause poor visibility below 2km especially in open areas with decreasing wind speed at night. 

In addition wave height is expected to range between 37 to 48 degrees Celsius and minimums between 27-33 degrees Celsius across the country.  

Meanwhile, in its daily report, the department said weather inshore until 6 pm on Monday will be very hot daytime with slight dust and some clouds, relatively humid by night.

Offshore, it will be misty with some clouds at some places at first becomes hazy later, the report added.

Wind inshore will be mainly northwesterly to northwesterly 05 to 15 knot.

Offshore, it will be southeasterly to northeasterly less than 10 knots at first, becomes northwesterly 05 to 15 knot gusting to 18 knots later.

Visibility will be 4 to 8 kilometers.

Sea state inshore will be 1 to 2 feet at first, rises to 2 to 3/4 feet later, while offshore it will be 1 to 3 feet at first, rises 2 to 4/5 feet later.
