Doha: The news shared on social media saying a press conference will be held tonight at 9pm to discuss the latest developments about Coronavirus is incorrect, Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said on Twitter.
Many people were seen sharing the incorrect image in Arabic with ministry logo saying a press conference will be held at 9pm on Qatar TV and Al Rayyan TV.
Ministry said in the tweet that information is not correct and urged everyone to obtain news and information from official sources and through its accounts on social networking sites.
As Covid-19 cases saw a marginal rise in Qatar, many rumourmongers are forwarding fake news about precautionary measures and travel alerts. Authorities have been time and again warning people it is against law to spread incorrect information and to follow official channels for news and alerts.
