New Lotus Evora 410 to be unveiled at motor show

The seventh edition of the Qatar Motor Show has revealed that an exclusive supercar sponsored by Commercial Bank will be unveiled at this year’s show.

Held under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, the event will open its doors from tomorrow until April 22 at the Doha Exhibition and

Convention Centre.

The supercar, a brand-new Lotus Evora 410, will be displayed in the region for the first time since its European launch last month. The news is a testament to Qatar Motor Show’s leading position as a platform for the most exclusive, highly-anticipated regional reveals,

according to a statement.

The supercar complements this year’s theme, ‘Driving to Innovation’, and showcases features such as a maximum speed of 285km/h, maximum power of 410hp at 7,000rpm and a kerb weight of 1,336kg. The car’s front and rear have a fully independent suspension, forged aluminium double wishbone suspension, anti-roll bar, Eibach springs and Bilstein dampers. It offers a Lotus tuned hydraulically assisted steering and driver selectable ESP modes - Drive/Sport/Race, the statement

explains.

“Organising events such as Qatar Motor Show in partnership with the private sector forms part of our strategy to cultivate home-grown tourism products that attract regional and international visitors,” said Ahmed al-Obaidli, director of Exhibitions at Qatar Tourism Authority. “We recognise that tourism events, products and services can only be effective if they are built on partnerships with members of the private sector, and we are grateful to Commercial Bank for returning, year after year, to support Qatar Motor Show and help make it a resounding success.”

Commercial Bank has been part of Qatar Motor Show since 2011. Last year, the bank launched a vehicle loan campaign in conjunction with the show and offered “competitive offers” supported by a vehicle finance team that provided expert advice and instant approvals on loans for customer convenience.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Commercial Bank CEO Joseph Abraham said: “Commercial Bank is proud to be the supercar sponsor of Qatar Motor Show 2017. The bank has a long association with this exceptional Qatari event that showcases dozens of new car models every year, and we are again delighted to participate at the Qatar Motor Show and welcome thousands of local and expatriate fans to enjoy pure motoring indulgence.”
