New arts centre opens

Katara – the Cultural Village Foundation general manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti inaugurated the 7th Heaven Arts Centre in Doha yesterday. Present on the occasion were Friends of the Environment programme chairman Dr Saif al-Hajri, 7th Heaven Arts Centre chairperson and the Qatari artist Amal al-Aathem, representatives of a number of diplomatic missions to Doha and art enthusiasts. The centre is described as “a vital educational institute” that focuses on creativity and talent development among children and youth in various fields related to the visual arts, which entail painting, photography, design, graphics, ceramics and printing, according to a press statement. The centre offers a wide range of training programmes customised for different age groups where they will learn creative techniques.
