Doha: Municipalities have intensified efforts to prepare public parks and prayer grounds for the upcoming Eid Al Fitr.
Inspection campaigns on food outlets will be intensified to ensure the compliance with health rules.
Doha Municipality has deployed a team of inspectors accompanied by veterinary doctors to inspect shopping complexes, sweets and nuts shops, eateries offering traditional foods and butcheries.
Inspection drive will be conducted on vegetables and fruits imported to the central market, refrigerators, and warehouses in Industrial Area.
Al Rayyan Municipality has intensified inspection on food outlets and deployed teams to clean public squares and roads in preparation for Eid Al Fitr.
The Health Control Department of Al Rayyan Municipality inspected shopping complexes, sweets and nuts shops and eateries and slaughterhouses in two shifts to ensure the safety of foodstuffs.
Municipal inspectors have been deployed to check vegetables and fruits at Al Sailiya Central Market. The campaigns are carried out under the supervision of a specialised team of inspectors and veterinary doctors to ensure the health of consumers during Eid Al Fitr.
Complaints received during the Eid Al Fitr holidays will also be responded to immediately. Wholesale and retail stores are being inspected in a three-shift system 24 hours a day.
The public park section has prepared all parks by cleaning facilities, sports equipment and playgrounds in the parks, while providing services for cleaning and security in preparation for the festival. All public parks at Al Rayyan Municipality will be open from 5am until 1am.
Al Shamal Municipality has also started preparation Eid Al Fitr, by conducting inspection drives on food outlets and cleaning Eid prayer grounds, streets and public roads.
The drives will also focus on shopping complexes, eateries, meat and poultry shops, restaurants and pastry shops and slaughterhouse throughout the week. The public parks section of Al Shamal Municipality cleaned the entire parks’ facilities, such as play areas, walkway, water coolers among others. The public parks at Al Shamal Municipality will be opened from 8am to 12noon during Eid Al Fitr.
The Cleaning Section of the Municipality cleaned and disinfected Eid prayer grounds and mosques. The section receives the applications for drainage services and rodent and pest control which will be provided from 8am to 12noon.
Umm Salal Municipality has also conducted intensive inspection campaigns targeting the most active outlets during Eid Al Fitr holidays including sweets, pastries, chocolate and nuts shops.
The inspection drives will be also conducted on slaughterhouses which are expected to receive large number of customers during Eid Al Fitr.
