Mowasalat (Karwa) has said it will run a full stadium express service with a fleet of more than 900 buses to transfer local and visiting spectators to and from Lusail Stadium, which hosts the Lusail Super Cup on Friday.

This will be done to make commuting easy and convenient for spectators, the company said in a press statement.

The stadium express bus service will commence four hours before the match and continue until three hours after the end of the game to help spectators reach home safely. There will also be a ‘Park and Ride’ service for spectators with an option to park their vehicles in dedicated parking zones and catch a bus to the stadium.

A special bus service has also been deployed for visiting spectators attending the match from neighbouring countries and travelling to Qatar on chartered flights. This special service is running daily from September 7 until today, at intervals of 10 minutes from noon until 9pm, from the Doha International Airport arrival terminal to the Al Doha Al Jadeda Metro station, where fans could catch the Metro to Lusail Stadium.

Lusail Super Cup fans will also have the option to book Mowasalat (Karwa)’s brand-new ‘Economy’ Service on the Karwa Taxi app, operated by partners Fox Limousines.

A dedicated fleet of 350 taxis will also ply the roads of Qatar for the Lusail Super Cup.

Mowasalat (Karwa) CEO Fahad al-Qahtani said, "This is a significant tournament for us. It will showcase our readiness to welcome guests to our country and experience a world-class public transport system.

“Quality and safety play a vital role at Mowasalat, but we are also on a mission to achieve net-zero emissions by 2030, and our team is working persistently to deploy more and more electric vehicles on the road. This includes our newly acquired fleet of electric buses, hybrid taxis and electric limousines. The day of this crucial match at Lusail Stadium is also observed globally as World Electric Vehicle Day, and I am delighted to share that part of the fleet is powered by electricity. We involve technical innovation at every stage to ensure we can adapt to the fast-evolving global transportation sector to connect Qatar safely and sustainably, with a green footprint,” he said.

The 80,000-capacity Lusail Stadium is among the eight state-of-the-art venues for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and the final will be played there on December 18.
