MoTC forum to provide SMEs with opportunity to share knowledge

The 'Digitisation of SMEs Forum: An Alternative to Survive' forum by the Ministry of Transport and Communication (MoTC) will provide an online opportunity to share knowledge and seek answers and support for all concerns.

The forum will be held on March 29-30, with the ministry urging small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to attend the event and make use of the opportunity.

This forum aims to introduce SMEs in Qatar to the era of digital transformation and shifting from decision-based traditional models to data-driven models while helping them adapt the new practices in order to increase it's efficiency in a rapidly changing economy. The forum introduces two technology concepts in the context of SMEs that are cloud service and blockchains.

The forum will feature speakers from Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a member of Qatar Foundation, and the MoTC.

The event will review best international and regional practices in digital transformation while using cloud services in the business, and introducing a success story from Qatar. Also, it will discuss SMEs’ challenges and how to deal with recent trends in digitization and automation.

The first day will introduce the potential of using cloud services in the business. It will also bring about a success story in Qatar while how Everything as a Service (EaaS) has revolutionised the startup and how traditional enterprises compete. The new normal in different companies with standard multi-cloud environments for reliability and fault tolerance will be discussed along with the interoperability issues that paved the way for cloud solutions, cloud computing structure, and implementation challenges.

Blockchain applications for business will be covered on the second day that will discuss Blockchain as an emerging and disruptive technology enabling trustful, transparent, and verifiable interactions and transactions without relying on any kind of intermediaries.
