Most people prefer Metrash2 to communicate with MoI, finds survey

Doha: The majority of people in Qatar like communicating with the Ministry of Interior (MoI) through Metrash2 which proves the efficacy and popularity of services providing digital platform.

The Metrash2 service enables citizens and residents to obtain a wide range of Ministry of Interior (MoI) services while enjoying the convenience of using their cell phones such as traffic services, visit visa services, Resident Permit (RP) services among many others.

In a recent online survey conducted by the MoI on its website, 41% respondents said that they preferred Metrash2 channel to communicate with the Ministry.

According to survey in which 5,608 people participated, as many as 2,283 (41%) respondents voted for Metrash2 while 23% (1,294) respondents said that they preferred communicating with the Ministry of Interior through email and 18% (989 people) said that they preferred direct visit to MoI facilities.

As many as 756 people (13%) said they preferred using telephone for communicating with the Ministry while 5% (286 people) prefer using social media platforms for the purpose.

The Ministry of Interior’s Public Opinion Survey Center is a space to interact with the public of various categories through which the Ministry aims to get acquainted with the opinions of the public and their suggestions by answering the survey questionnaires provided.  “The opinions of the public constitute a major focus in evaluating the quality of services provided by the departments of the Ministry of Interior through electronic services or service centres to measure the reputation and perception about the Ministry of the Interior among its clients,” the Ministry said.

It is to be noted that the Ministry of Interior recently launched 17 new e-services on Metrash2 on the sidelines of 14th Milipol Qatar Exhibition. The newly added Metrash2 e-services include six services related to residence permits which were previously required visiting the Expatriate Affairs Department while now they can be submitted through Metrash2. 

According to data of March this year, more than 26 million transactions have been completed through Metrash2 since it was launched in 2012 until last year.
