MoPH reports 244 Covid-19 cases; 17 from returning travellers

Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 244 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 213 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 119,613.

Out of the 244 new cases, 227 are community cases and 17 from travellers returning from abroad.

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 122,693  and there are 2872 active cases under treatment. So far, 208 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.

Ministry conducted 4150 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 709,132 tests. There are 45 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total patients in the hospital to 418.
Seven patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 58.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:

- Adherence to physical distancing.

- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.

- Wearing a face mask.

- Washing hands regularly
