MOI holds Crowd and Traffic Control Management course in preparation for 2022 FIFA World Cup

Doha: The Ministry of Interior (MOI) held the graduation ceremony of the Crowd and Traffic Control Management course on Monday, in the presence of several department directors and officers in the Ministry.

The training course, which lasted for six months was attended by 31 certified trainers. It comes within the framework of the crowd and traffic control management in preparation for 2022 FIFA World Cup.



The course was conducted in collaboration with Traffic, Rescue Police, Public Transport Security and Police Training Institute in addition to the Lekhwiya Force and international partners from the International Public Transport Association and Lyceum International Training.

Participants in the course received lectures on traffic management, directing drivers, managing traffic congestion, crowd psychology, securing public transport, directing crowds in vehicles in addition to different scenarios and practical applications.



The course aimed at training highly qualified cadres to manage crowds during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with the framework of a three-year training program, which began in 2019 and aims to train 1276 members from various departments of the Ministry of Interior.



At the end of the ceremony, The Director General of Traffic Brigadier Muhammad Abdullah Al Shahwani, and Director of the Police Training Institute Lt. Col. Ali Saud Al Hanzab, awarded the certificates to the graduating officers.
