Doha: In line with the precautionary measures to limit the spread of coronavirus, the Ministry of Interior has announced that the Establishment Card (Computer Card) of all entities will be renewed automatically without approaching the directorate.
The Ministry of Interior represented by the General Directorate of Passports said that the expiry date must be on or after January 1, 2020, the Ministry tweeted.
It further said that the renewal will be for two months starting on May 1, 2020, and the fees due will be settled later.
The Ministry said that such procedures come as precautionary measures in order to limit spread of the virus. Among other measures made by the Ministry of Interior in this regard include adding many serviced to Metrash2 app including replacing vehicle plates, writing off vehicles, reporting criminal complaints, adding newborns to the national address, and the list for travel notifications for employees.
Services such as request for Police Clearance Certificate, reporting lost objects and national address registration can be completed through Metrash2 or the website of the Ministry of Interior.
It has also allowed visitors in the country on tourist visas (on-arrival and priorly issued visas) to stay in the country without extending their visas or paying any fee, taking into account their inability to return to their home countries due to closure of airports.
The Ministry has further invited all concerned individuals to subscribe to the Metrash2 app to access its services and transactions.
The Ministry pointed out that the health security is a shared responsibility. It requires strict adherence to decisions and preventive measures taken by authorities to protect the society.
The recently released statistics by the MoI showed that the most used services in 2020 were those including renewing vehicle licenses, registering national address, renewing residence permits, visa extension and paying traffic violation fines.
Also the number of Metrash2 users has exceeded 1 million so far, while the transactions completed since the beginning of the year 2020 reached more than 2.3 million transactions and the total inquiries about the services in Metrash2 exceeded 5 million inquiries.
It also has arrested a number of people who violated the decision to prevent gatherings in public places.
