The Ministry of Municipality and Environment’s (MME) Environmental Protection and Wildlife patrols spotted 43 violations in May.
As many as 22 violations were about breaking the ban on grazing of camels in the open. Discarding refuse materials in undesignated areas, excavation of soil, and keeping banned fishing nets were among the other violations.
Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality’s Health Inspection Section has launched a comprehensive campaign on all food facilities and outlets within its jurisdiction to upgrade the food health and safety standards due to the considerable consumer demand during the holy month of Ramadan.
The campaign also aims at raising the awareness of the workers at these places regarding the proper methods to keep and maintain food products.
