The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has published calendar for the academic year 2020-21 for government schools.
School staff will return to schools for the academic year 2020-21 on August 19, according to the calendar which was announced by the Ministry on social media.
The 2019-20 second round exams for the students of grades 1 to 12 (morning/adult education) will be held from August 23 to 31, 2020. First day of the 2020-21 academic year will be on September 1.
Midterm 1 exams for the students of grades 1 to 11 (morning) will be held from October 20 to 29, 2020.
As per the calendar, Term 1 final exams for grades 10, 11 and 12 students(morning/adult education) will be from December 2 to 13.
Term 1 final exams for students of grades 1 to 9 (morning/adult education) will be held from December 2 to 10. Midterm break will be from December 20 to 31, 2020
Beginning of Term 2 is scheduled on January 3, 2021.
Term 1 second round exams for students of grades 1 to 11 (morning/adult education) will be from January 19 to 28, 2021.
Midterm 2 exams for students of grades 10 and 11 (morning) will be held from March 2 to 11, 2021.
Midterm 2 exams for students of grades 1-9 (morning) will be from March 3 to 11, 2021.
Midterm 2 break will be from March 14 to 18, 2021. Classes will resume after midterm 2 break on March 21, 2021.
Term 2 final exams for students of grades 10, 11 and 12(morning/adult education) will be from May 30 to June 9, 2021.
Term 2 final exams for students of grades 1-9 (morning/adult education) will be held May 31 to June 8, 2021. School staff holiday will be from June 20 to August 19, 2021. Second round exams for students of grades 1-12 (morning/adult education) will be held from July 6 to July 14, 2021.
School staff will return to schools for the 2021-22 academic year on August 22, 2021. First day of the 2021-22 academic year will be August 24, 2021.
