Ministry of Public Health clarifies on social media rumours about COVID-19

Doha: Reports on social media about virus outbreak in Qatar reaching a peak on May 17, 18, 19 and 20 are incorrect said that Ministry of Public Health on its social media. 

The ministry stated, "what is being reported on social media that the days of the 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th of this month are the peak of the (Covid 19) virus outbreak is incorrect." 

The ministry renewed the call for public to obtain information from its official sources and not to circulate any rumours.

Dr Abdullatif Al Khal, Co-Chair of the National Pandemic Preparedness Committee and Head of Infectious Diseases at Hamad Medical Corporation in a press conference held recently called on community members to maintain social distancing to ensure the number of Covid-19 cases in the country does not rise.

He had also mentioned Qatar has entered the peak period, but the peak of the curve has not yet reached.
