Doha: The Ministry of Municipality and Environment represented by the Agricultural Affairs Department has distributed local dates supplied by registered Qatari farms to charitable societies in the country, which will then be distributed to the needy inside and outside Qatar.
The total quantity of 570 tonnes dates were delivered in four batches to Qatar Charity, Qatar Red Crescent Society and Hifz Alnaema Center.
The date distribution project started in 2006 and aims to motivate Qatari farmers to expand the production of local dates.
