The Ministry of Municipality's Islands and Beaches Section has completed the first phase of cleaning the northern and northern western beaches of the country.
The 20-day campaign started from Abu Dhalouf Park and reached up to Al Reem Protectorate.
The exercise resulted in the removal about 125 tonnes of waste, in addition to 45 damaged tyres, seven iron barrels, two fibreglass water tanks, and animal carcasses including that of a dugong and two turtles.
The next phase is from Al Reem Protectorate to Dohat Al Hasseen.
