Ministry advises private health facilities to reduce staff presence

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has asked the private sector healthcare facilities to reduce the physical presence of staff by 2/3 and replace it with virtual attendance, as part of its efforts and precautions taken to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

The circular says the remaining 1/3 can attend the facilities in person subject to strict measures of infection prevention and control and social distancing in accordance with the MoPH’s directives.

According to the circular, issued yesterday by Noora Abdulla Mohamed al-Mulla, acting director, Healthcare Facilities Licensing and Accreditation Department at the MoPH, all private clinics and hospitals have been advised to be ready and assist public hospitals as required by the ministry.

They have been instructed to operate dental clinics only in emergency and critical procedures.
