Ministries ask people to use electronic services to curb COVID-19 spread

Doha: A number of ministries have asked people to use electronic services through their apps and official websites in place of visiting in person to avail the services in a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19 by reducing the chances of infection.

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has called people to avail the services of the ministry through official website www.edu.qa and e-gate for services ‘eduservices.edu.gov.qa’ and hotline 155.

“Under the preventive measures to protect citizens and expatriates from coronavirus, the ministry asked the people to avoid visiting in person to the ministry as much as they can,” the Ministry has tweeted.

The ministry also asked users to obtain equivalency certificates online as the service is available and they can apply. The Ministry of Municipality and Environment offers 93 services on its app.

“Under the framework of ongoing state efforts to reduce the chances of the infection of coronavirus, we advise you to use Aoun app, official website mme.gov.qa and telephone number of unified call center 184 to avail the services,” the Ministry has tweeted.

Aoun offers a total of 93 services, many of them are new from different sectors at the Ministry. The application features a follow-up option which allows tracing of applications or licensing process or those related to ownership which were submitted previously such as the follow-ups of building permit, requests for land allocation among many more. The application also provides important information about the service centres such as the number of visitors in the waiting queue and working hours.

The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs offers a total of 33 services including 21 services for individuals and 12 services for companies through its ‘Amerni’ app which is available on Apple Store and Android. The users of the services of the ministry can make transactions through Amerni app and website, the Ministry has tweeted.

The e-services of ‘Amerni’ application include housing application follow up, rent allowance follow up, house purchase-ownership request, title deed request, installment exception request, labour residency extension, establishment transactions suspension follow up, and establishment’s inclusive statistics.

Other services are labour complaint follow up (individual/corporate), job seeker’s registration certificate, nursery location, report violation of nurseries, house loan request, house request for people in need, senior staff loan variance disbursement, social security follow up, social security documents.
