Metrash2 speeds up vehicle number plate installation

Doha: Vehicles’ Number Plate Workshop building in Industrial Area has dedicated a lane for Metrash2 users, enabling them to get installed number plates of their vehicles on a fast-track basis. The facility, run by the General Directorate of Traffic’s Licensing Department at the Ministry of Interior, is open from 6:30am to 7pm.

To avail this fast track service, motorists can pay the dues using the Metrash2 app.

The procedure of paying in advance allows motorists to use  a dedicated lane, skipping payment counter. After the verification counter, they can go directly to the number plate installation.

“Motorists can use Metrash2 service for paying the charge for vehicle’s number plate installation which enables them to go directly in a separate lane to the section for installation,” said First Lieutenant Ahmed Zayed Al Rumaihi from the General Directorate of Traffic.

Speaking to Qatar TV, Al Rumaihi said the Vehicles’ Number Plate Workshop building in Industrial Area is serving motorists from 6:30am to 7pm.

Regarding the procedures for installing number plates, he said: “From entrance, the first counter is verification to check the requirements; a second counter for paying charges for installing number plate for those who have not paid through Metrash2; then go for installing the number plate.”

The Industrial Area workshop is in line with the strategy of the Ministry of Interior to facilitate motorists.

Speaking in the same programme, Lieutenant Faisal Abdulaziz Al Haydous from the General Directorate of Traffic said Vehicles’ Number Plate Workshop building in Industrial Area is operating with four lanes including one dedicated for Metrash2 service users.

“The services include replacing damaged or lost number plates, installing special  number plate, and other related services,” said Al Haydous.

The workshop with its larger space and advanced technological equipment has smoothed the process of installing number plates.

The process takes only a few minutes, without the need for the motorists to get down from the vehicle.

The General Directorate of Traffic is keen to make services easily available to the people of Qatar including citizens and residents, the officials said.
