MEC call for registration

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) has urged public and private joint stock companies with branches operating under different names and conducting activities other than the ones listed under the main branch, to ensure compliance with the provisions of Law No 20 for 2014 that introduced amendments to some provisions of Law No. 25 for 2005 regarding the commercial registration.

Companies approach the MEC headquarters on the second floor of Tower B in Lusail City, until April 30 will be exempted from the fee, it was announced yesterday.

The initiative is part of the ministry’s efforts to support commercial companies and bolster the role of the private sector and its contribution to the economic development of the state in a bid to build a competitive, diversified and sustainable economy in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

The MEC stressed that the activities of the main company and branches must conform with the purpose of the company as stated in its foundation documents.
