Mahaseel sees huge demand for locally-grown flowers

The fourth edition of Mahaseel Festival or harvest festival, taking place at Katara’s southern area until December 28, is witnessing a huge demand for locally-grown flowers.

A large number of customers have been visiting the venue daily since it opened on December 23, looking for roses, orchids, sunflowers, and other ornamental plants.

According to organisers, the latest edition of Mahaseel Festival provides an opportunity for home gardening enthusiasts to get seasonal and natural flowers, as well as plant fruit trees and various vegetables.

Nurseries also advise buyers on how to take care of their seedlings and plants, from cultivation and assortment to watering, among others required care instructions.

An array of activities have been organised at the festival while a number of shops offer different kinds of local dishes to visitors, especially families and children.

From January 2020, the Mahaseel market will be open every Friday and Saturday (9am to 9pm) and will run until March 31.
