Mahaseel Festival attracts large turnout of shoppers

The fifth edition of the Mahaseel Festival at the Cultural Village   Foundation - Katara continues to see a large turnout of shoppers for high-quality local agricultural products, food, and flowers at competitive prices.
The Festival will run until January 2, 2021.
Mohamed Maher from Al Athba Poultry Farm pavilion said, “We have been participating in this festival for the fifth year in a row, and a large number of shoppers buy our products as our company offers hundred percent local products. Many customers tell us they wait for our products because of quality and prices. (Our products come) direct from the producer to the consumer.
"We find a great demand from consumers because what we offer covers the highest standards of quality and food safety in addition to the health control.”
Another participant in the festival, Tamer Nabil, from the Ghadeer Dairy Company, commented, “We are participating for the fifth year. We are a national company, and we serve the Qatari market throughout the year.
The Mazraati Company’s stall supervisor noted that the company is one of the leading Qatari companies in the automatic manufacture of poultry. He added that this year marks their second participation in the festival.
Al Wajba, participating  for the first time, hopes to use the feedback from customers to improve their output.
A representative of Al Wajba, Mohammed Takla, said, “This is our first time to participate. We are happy with our presence and are listening directly to the shoppers’ aspirations. We are attracting a large number of consumers, which makes us always look forward to increasing our productivity.”
Engineer Abdullah Hayy Al Sulaiti said the festival supports Qatari products by displaying products like vegetables, flowers, dates, honey, and others.
He stressed that Mahaseel is an initiative that Katara is thankful for, expressing his desire to record the participation for all Qatari farms, which total over 1,400.
The pavilions dedicated to selling various types of roses and flowers have also witnessed a great turnout thanks to their organisation, coordination, and beauty.
Many visitors also took photos of beautiful paintings at the venue.
The festival includes 28 Qatari farms displaying varieties of fresh vegetables and honey, in addition to the stalls of nine national companies specialised in producing sheep, cattle, calves, eggs, poultry, milk, and its derivatives.
There are also eight stands of nurseries displaying their products like flowers, roses, and ornamental plants, where the participants compete in marketing methods, presentation, and packaging.
Katara organises this festival every year as a way to support the Qatari agricultural sector and national livestock and food products, as well as to offer business opportunities to owners of Qatari farms.
Qatari farms participating in the fifth edition of the festival display a distinguished bouquet of its finest agricultural products from fresh vegetables and are subject to supervision by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) to ensure that they are free of chemical fertilizers.
These initiatives support the efforts made in achieving food security and self-sufficiency and strengthening the national economy’s independence.
