Doha: Transport Ministry announced that the first phase of Lusail Tram services will open for the public on January 1, 2022.
The first phase features the operation of part of the Orange Line, with six stations, namely Marina, Marina Promenade, Yacht Club, Esplanade and Energy City South, in addition to the Legtaifiya station, which is a combined Tram and the Doha Metro station.
Lusail Tram will operate on seven days a week with an interval of five minutes. When the service becomes fully operational, the public will be able to use the tram to reach all parts of Lusail city and connect to the Metro network via Legtaifiya and Lusail station.
This announcement is in line with the Ministry's plans to provide a sustainable, integrated and multi-modal public transport system, and to support the country's hosting of an environmentally friendly and "carbon neutral" World Cup.
