Old Qatari banknotes (fourth series) will be accepted at branches of various banks and ATMs in the country only until December 31.
All local banks have already advised customers about the December 31 deadline.
In January this year, Qatar Central Bank (QCB) had put into circulation the fifth series through which new currency notes in seven denominations were introduced - QR1, QR5, QR10, QR50, QR100, QR200, and QR500.
Originally, March 19 was set as the deadline to replace the currency notes (of the fourth issue) with the new bank notes. However, QCB had later extended the deadline.
