Doha: Health Control Department of the Doha Municipality seized large quantities of frozen fish of unknown origin without a label and unfit for human consumption in the warehouses of a company in the Industrial Area.
Necessary legal measures were taken regarding the incident and a violation report was issued and the entire seized quantities were immediately destroyed.
The department's inspectors, along with officials from Ministry of Interior, carried out many raids on places of preparation, storage and foodstuff packaging that revealed unsanitary conditions, packing hot meals in bags that do not conform to standard specifications and use of expired foodstuffs.
In October, the inspectors carried out 1,650 inspections, found 55 violations, issued and implemented seven administrative closures and 65 samples were removed from various food establishments to ensure their suitability for human consumption.
