Kia unveils all-new Cadenza

Kia has set new standards for comfort, dynamics and in-car technologies with the launch of its all-new Cadenza yesterday at The Gate Mall. “The Cadenza is classified as one of Kia’s premium cars,” Hossam Abu Shadi of Al-Attiya Motors and Trading Company, the exclusive distributor of Kia in Qatar, told Gulf Times.

Designed with a longer, lower, and wider body, he said the second-generation luxury sedan is powered by a 3.3-litre ‘Lambda’ V6 gasoline engine to provide a smooth and enjoyable driving experience.

The car boasts a precisely crafted cabin, cutting edge technology for connectivity and driver assistance, a stronger body structure, and power-train enhancements.

Using a console at the back, Shadi said passengers can enjoy “a full control of everything” such as adjusting the AC and the sound system while being driven by a chauffeur.

The Cadenza features several luxury items, including a navigation system with an 8-inch display screen, ventilated seats for both the driver and passengers, a rear view camera, front and rear parking sensors, premium sound system, and all the safety elements, according to Shadi.

Cutting-edge driver assistance features are also available, with Kia bringing a suite of DRiVE WISE Advanced Driver Assistance Systems to the sedan. DRiVE WISE embodies Kia’s philosophy to realise intelligently safe vehicles and improve safety for all road users.

For buyers of the new Cadenza in various markets, blind spot detection is available, guiding the driver by giving out a sound and light alarm on the side-view mirrors.

“It also has an electric tailgate, you do not have to open by hand the trunk,” he explained.“You just approach the car holding some stuff and stand behind it for few seconds, the trunk will automatically open even if it is locked.”

He added that smartphones also get charged with a wireless charger in the front console.

The Cadenza’s interior has been thoughtfully redesigned with higher quality materials than the preceding model.

The driver’s seat has been lowered for a sportier and more stable feeling while engineers extended the seat cushion slightly and developed an innovative cushion extension mechanism that slides and rotates, making it easier to find the perfect driving position.

Compared to its competitors, Shadi pointed out that the Cadenza’s noise vibration is lower, “which gives a feel of premiumness.”

“This is the only car in the market that comes with a five-year manufacturer’s warranty and unlimited mileage,” he stressed.“It has a very long warranty that tells you how confident we are about the car, about its durability.”

Shadi noted that the car went through (a series of) tests with more than 1.1mn km drive carried out in various parts of the world and in extreme temperatures, including Siberia and countries in the Middle East.

“I do not think that many cars went through all these kinds of tests for durability and luxury, and all of that,” he added.

Kia Qatar also offers customers a week of test drive for the Cadenza, priced at QR129,000 for the full option.
