ق€˜For restaurants, business is as usualق€™

The restaurant industry is flourishing in Qatar with many people launching new chains and eateries, managing partner of a popular chain of restaurants Syed Akram Hussaini, pictured,  told Qatar Urdu Radio’s live show Haqeeqat yesterday.

“It’s a cash-based business and everyone wants to start restaurants in Qatar right now,” Hussaini said, adding that it’s one of the most prospering sectors in the country.

He spoke about the business prospects of the food and restaurant industry and the way in which the blockade of Qatar affected the industry.

“The business is going on as usual for most people in food business but the blockade has definitely taught us to be more resourceful,” Hussaini explained.

Advising people interested in starting a food service or retail food business, Hussaini asserted that experience was key to the success of any business.

“I launched the first restaurant in Qatar in 2010 and because of experience in management I was able to expand it.”

Haqeeqat, which aims to engage and interact with the large South Asian expatriate community in Qatar, is a joint venture of the Gulf Times and Qatar Media Corp Urdu Radio. It is broadcast from Sunday to Thursday on FM107.
