"We are happy to organise this conference at Al Thuraya Planetarium, which is considered the pearl of Katara's scientific facilities, which were are proud of, and has been playing a big role in enhancing the astronomy culture and awareness and spreading knowledge about the universe and related fields in a new modern, innovative and effective way."
Dr Mohamed Diab, QU assistant vice-president for students' affairs, appreciated the efforts of the organisers of the conference. Six workshops were held Friday. Also being held with the conference is an interactive arts exhibition featuring 22 paintings on astronomical subjects, and an area dedicated for kids' colouring activities. A number of workshops for children will continue Saturday also. Children above 12, who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19, can register to participate.
