Katara lines up four-day Eid al-Fitr festivities

Katara - the Cultural Village Foundation is gearing up to launch its festive programme for Eid al-Fitr, which will be held over four days and include a number of activities and attractions.

The events will be held on the Katara Beach from 4pm to 9pm. In a statement, Katara said it has been keen to provide diverse activities that appeal to all categories and ages of people, besides decorating the premises and streets of Katara to reflect the joy and happiness of the occasion.

There will be a fireworks display on the first day of the Eid holidays, while Eid gifts will be distributed among children all through the Eid days. Further, visitors to Katara can enjoy interesting shows presented by five Arab folk groups on the Katara Corniche, reflecting the culture and heritage of the participating countries.

A play will be presented at the Katara Drama Theatre from May 10 to 14, while visitors can also enjoy the sea and sand on the Katara Beach and the various activities taking place there. There will be a play area for children equipped with a variety of games, taking into account factors such as safety and comfort. Beach visitors can also enjoy delicious food and drinks by ordering them from Katara's restaurants and cafes.

Al Thuraya Planetarium in Building 41 will present a number of entertainment and educational films, starting from the second day of Eid al-Fitr with three shows per day.
