To make the successful, Katara provided all the facilities and services needed by visitors to ensure their comfort and enjoyment at the festival, starting from transport vehicles (golf carts) that take visitors from various places in Katara to the beachfront where events were being held, in addition to the distribution of cold drinking water, medical services and ambulance, as well as the presence of some of the finest restaurants and cafes and a large number of food carts and trucks.

Throughout the days of Eid, Katara beach welcomed a large crowd of visitors who loved swimming, marine games and children’s games. One of the main attractions at the four-day festival was the screening of 3D movies at Al Thurayya Planetarium in Arabic and English including “Dawn of the Space Age,” “The Perfect Little Planet” and “The Astronaut” shown from the second to the fourth day of Eid Al Adha holidays, respectively. The special play area at the Esplanade where giant bouncy castles were set up also witnessed children and families who came in large numbers every day during the festival.

The Police Training Institute (PTI) military band entertained hundreds of people with their excellent performance playing musical instruments while moving in sync as they marched along the beachfront in neat rows. There was huge demand  for the fascinating show prompting organisers to stage two shows every night.

But it was the the breathtaking fireworks display which served as the icing on the cake. The nightly fireworks show, which was unique to Katara as it was the only venue which presented it during Eid Al Adha, generated thousands of visitors who took photos and videos of the stunning colours which painted the skies over Katara.

Meanwhile, business at the restaurants and cafes as well as the food carts and trucks was brisk during the festivities as visitors thronged them to sample the wide variety of scrumptious food and beverages on offer.
