Swedish home furnishing retailer, Ikea — part of Al-Futtaim – marked four years on Saturday since welcoming visitors to its first and only store in Doha.
Kicking off its four year anniversary in style, Ikea has unveiled an array of special offers on more than 400 products, including bedroom, kitchen, living room, bathroom and kids products until March 18.
During the celebration, the Qatar Ikea store has planned daily in-store events for children, including circus-themed games, different fun-filled activities and lots of food to go around.
Vinod Jayan, regional general manager – Ikea UAE, Qatar, Egypt and Oman, recalled that ‘Ikea, together with a dedicated team of co-workers, has been able to grow and develop the brand in Qatar by establishing the store as a go-to destination for retail.’
“This is a very exciting time for us, as the Doha Festival City Mall will be opening its doors next month. We are now part of a destination that is more than just retail – so we are excited to welcome the new and engaged audiences coming to see the entertainment, leisure and retail offering as well as continue to enjoy what we have to offer,” he said.
“With Doha Festival City opening its doors on April 5, 2017, the Ikea store will be within a great vicinity of entertainment, fashion and dining outlets and areas available to the public.
“We look forward to many more years of inspiring a better everyday life at home for the people of Qatar. In the words of our founder, Ingvar Kamprad, most things still remain to be done,” added Jayan.
