HMC to co-host healthcare conference

Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC),

in collaboration with the Healthcare Information and Management Systems

Society (HIMSS), will host the inaugural HIMSS Qatar Educational

Conference and Health IT Exhibition from December 7 to 9 at the Sheraton

Grand Doha Resort and Convention Hotel.

Organised under the

umbrella of the Ministry of Public Health and in partnership with the

Primary Health Care Corporation and Sidra Medicine, this

first-of-its-kind exhibition will highlight the enormous clinical

transformation that is underway across Qatar’s healthcare system.

“This

event is a wonderful opportunity for all healthcare professionals,

whether in clinical or support service functions, to come together to

share and discuss the latest, best, and most applicable clinical

information systems case studies relevant to healthcare in Qatar,” said

Dr AbdulWahab al-Musleh, deputy chief medical officer, Clinical

Information Systems at HMC.

Founded in 1961 in the US, HIMSS is a

global voice, adviser, and leader of health transformation through IT

with a unique breadth and depth of expertise to improve the quality,

safety, and efficiency of health, healthcare, and care outcomes.

“HIMMS

is delighted to be partnering with HMC for this unique event,” said

Jeremy Bonfini, executive vice president global services of HIMSS.

“The

conference will focus on innovation, collaboration, and education in

the IT health sector. The programme is structured around clinical

informatics, nursing informatics, diagnostic informatics, and health

information management, and will feature keynote speakers, industry

leaders, cutting-edge health IT products and a full scientific

educational programme,” said Bonfini.
