Hiring of Filippino domestic workers through Qatar Visa Center soon

Doha: Ministry of Interior said that the mechanism of recruitment of domestic workers will be activated through Qatar Visa Center in the Philippine capital, Manila, as of March 15, within the framework of facilitating procedures for applicants.

This came during an introductory conference organized by the Ministry today, represented by the Visa Support Services Department regarding the activation of this mechanism and the procedures followed in this regard, in the presence of the owners and representatives of recruitment agencies operating in the country.

The Director of Visa Support Services Department Major Abdullah Khalifa Al Mohannadi said during the conference that this mechanism, which will be activated through the Qatar Visa Center in Manila on March 15, will cover all domestic workers, which will contribute to the finalization of recruitment procedures in an easy and accurate way through verification of the employment contracts and their documentation by the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs before they leave their country, in addition to the procedures for medical examination and vital data.

Al Mohannadi added that a number of new services will be activated, which will provide more facilities that will serve all the recruitment agencies through the existing cooperation between the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs with its counterpart in the Philippines.

Al Mohannadi added that the procedures in Qatar visa centers will be as brief as possible, including canceling the visa stamp, which will facilitate the procedures for its issuance, in addition to some other procedures that reduce time and effort.

Al Mohannadi gave a presentation on the procedures that are being implemented at Qatar Visa Center in the Philippine capital, Manila, the recruitment mechanism, and the mechanism for authorizing recruitment agencies, in addition to the contact points providing the necessary information.

He noted that upon completion of the procedures of the Philippine Department of Labor and Employment, an appointment is reserved for the applicant to visit the Qatar Visa Center with the required documents, which include (passport, appointment letter, educational qualifications if necessary, and the Philippine Department of Labor certificate).

Regarding the delegation, Al Mohannadi stated that the applicant can authorize the recruitment office to carry out his transactions through the application of Metrash 2 or through the electronic services of the Ministry of Interior, or any of the ministry's service sites.

In September, 2019, the State of Qatar inaugurated the Qatar Visa Center in the Philippine capital, Manila, within the framework of the project (Qatar Visa Centers Abroad), which was launched in 2018 and targets a number of labor-exporting countries to Qatar.
