The participating companies and organisations stressed the importance of the expo for all stakeholders in the field of agriculture, and see AgriteQ as an excellent opportunity to display their latest products and innovations in agriculture and farming, noting that the business opportunities are abundant in the market in Qatar due to the keen interest of the State in enhancing local food production.

A good number of embassies representing different nations are also taking part in the event, displaying the main agricultural products those countries have to offer with the aim of enhancing exchange of trade and experience.

In addition to its business potential, the exhibitions are also considered excellent opportunities to raise awareness on environmental issues.

Toufic Kallas, project manager at Qatar E-Nature, a bilingual interactive smartphone application, said that they have a kiosk at the venue with the aim of introducing the biodiversity of Qatar and the importance of maintaining the same.

Georgia’s ambassador to Qatar Nikoloz Revazishvili described the exhibition as an excellent opportunity to display his country's agricultural products in Qatar.

Some 15 Georgian companies are taking part across different sectors.

He said that his country welcomes all types of joint ventures in this field with businessmen from Qatar.

"With direct flights between Qatar and Georgia, fresh fruits and vegetables of high quality land daily with ease in the Qatari market from the Georgian fields,” Revazishvili said. “Besides, we welcome visitors from Qatar to come and explore the vast possibilities in this field as the Georgian government has decided to exempt those who have received the Covid-19 vaccine in Qatar from the requirements of health quarantine.”

He also expressed his appreciation for the organisers for holding the event in these difficult times brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Professor John Man Kon Wong, consultant at the Aquatic Research Centre of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, noted that scientific research entities play a major at AgriteQ.

Plant nurseries and companies dealing with agricultural equipment and technology are displaying their latest products and solutions.

He also lauded the country's efforts in the field.

"With the use of sophisticated technology and innovative scientific solutions, such as effective watering systems and climate control greenhouses, it is now possible to overcome the challenges faced in this region and enhance agricultural production, and Qatar has made great progress in this," he said, stressing that AgriteQ is an excellent platform for experience change and promoting sophisticated technology in the field.
