Doha: Hamad International Airport Customs thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotic drugs into the country.
A passenger was attempting to bring in banned substances hidden inside his luggage and when an inspector opened the bag, he found a set of towels full of shabo weighing 2750 g and a set of wrapped pieces weighing 5000g, and 331.1g of hashish.
After the seizure at the airport legal measures were taken against the passenger.
The customs authority has recently conducted several successive seizures and the customs inspectors undergo intensifying theoretical and field training in the latest technology and methods.
