Green list expands, Red list shrinks

The Ministry of Public Health has replaced the current classification of countries with two lists, Green and Red, in addition to a secondary list of Exceptional Red Countries based on international and local health risk indicators and the epidemiology of Covid-19 in different countries. The Yellow List has been done away with.

According to information available on the MoPH website, the Green list has been expanded to contain 188 countries. These include Australia, Bahrain, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iran, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Maldives, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Portugal, Russia, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Syria, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, the UAE, UK and US, among others.

On the other hand, the Red List has been shrunk to currently contain 15 countries, including Cuba, Egypt, Mongolia, Serbia, Seychelles and others.

* Exceptional Red List Countries

Besides the Green and Red lists, the Travel and Return Policy also includes the Exceptional Red List, which includes nine countries: India, the Philippines, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Indonesia, Kenya and Sudan.
