Egypt’s ambassador to Qatar Amr Kamal El-Din El-Sherbiny has praised the great strides that Egyptian-Qatari relations are witnessing towards strengthening co-operation between the two countries.
In a statement to the Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of the Qatar National Day, the envoy stressed the close historical ties between Qatar and Egypt, and said he is looking forward to further progress and success in all fields.
El-Sherbiny praised the successful organisation of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021, considering it a model of what the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will be.
He noted the accuracy of Qatar’s preparations, and the important and pioneering experience they represent in their ability to organise major tournaments.
El-Sherbiny extended his sincere congratulations to Qatar on the occasion of its celebration of the National Day.
He said: "On this occasion, I would like to express my happiness to be here in Qatar, and in this new and important phase of the Egyptian-Qatari relations, in which we look forward to strengthen our co-operation in various fields."
