Fuel prices to go up in December

Fuel prices will go up in Qatar, December price announced by Qatar Petroleum showed on Thursday.

QP said the price of 95-octane super gasoline (petrol) will be QR1.80 a litre in December compared with QR1.75 in November.

The price of premium petrol (91-octane) will go up to QR1.75 a litre in December in place of QR1.65 last month.

Diesel will cost Dh5 more on a litre- and would be priced QR1.70.

Fuel prices in Qatar were allowed to fluctuate in response to changes in the global market from May 2016.

The monthly revision in local fuel prices followed the government’s decision on fuel subsidy reforms in Qatar.

S&P Global Ratings recently raised its 2018 Brent crude oil price assumption to $55 a barrel.

Overall, it continues to expect Brent and WTI to be range-bound in 2018. It notes that Brent has been trading above $60/b since October 27, 2017, having closed at that price on September 25 for the first time since July 2015.
