Food inspection in run-up to Arab Cup

As part of the preparations for FIFA Arab Cup 2021, the unified inspection team for food organisations, playgrounds and facilities participating in the activities of the tournament has carried out a number of field visits to inspect the places responsible for supplying food products and the level of their readiness, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment said. Salem Hammoud al-Shafi, director of the Municipal Control Department at Doha Municipality and head of the team, said the action plan of the team to ensure the safety of foodstuff is based on two main approaches. First, it involves inspection across all stages of food supply - covering aspects such as storage, preparation of the food, transporting the same to stadiums and other related facilities, and ultimately exercising control as these are served to end users. The second approach involves collecting regular samples and sending them to the central laboratory of the Ministry of Public Health to ensure their safety.
