Qatar Airways yesterday announced the suspension of flights between Doha and destinations in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt in view of the diplomatic crisis and closing of air, sea and land links with Qatar.
UAE-based Emirates, Etihad Airways, flydubai and Air Arabia, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Bahrain’s Gulf Air and EgyptAir also said they were suspending flights to and from Doha.
In a statement on its website, Qatar Airways said they suspended all flights to Saudi Arabia yesterday until further notice; suspended all flights to the UAE and Bahrain from 3am Doha time today until further notice; and suspended all flights to Egypt 7am Doha time today until further notice.
“All customers booked on affected flights will be provided with alternative options, including the option of a full refund on any unused tickets and free rebooking to the nearest alternative Qatar Airways network destination,” the statement noted, urging people to check the Travel Alerts page on its website regularly for further flight updates.

Meanwhile, Emirates and Etihad said they would suspend flights to and from Doha from this morning until further notice. In a statement on Twitter, Saudi Arabian Airlines said they had suspended all flights to and from Qatar with effect from yesterday.
Also, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said yesterday it had banned all Qatari planes from landing in the kingdom’s airports, according to reports.
Gulf Air announced the suspension of its multiple daily services between Bahrain and Doha with effect from 11.59pm yesterday (Bahrain time) until further notice.
Meanwhile, flydubai said all its flights between Dubai and Doha would be suspended from today until further notice, while Air Arabia also announced that flights between Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Qatar would be suspended with effect from today until further notice.
