First phase of labour ministryق€™s Covid-19 campaign benefits over 88,000 workers

The “Conscious” campaign launched by the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA) to create awareness about the coronavirus Covid-19 among Qatar’s labour force has benefited over 80,000 workers in its first week.

Giving details of the campaign, the labour ministry informed yesterday that it has carried out 1,474 inspection visits to workplaces, workers’ accommodations and facilities, covering a total of 88,185 workers, across the country.

This campaign comes as part of the ministry’s efforts to limit the spread of Covid-19.

The campaign targets all facilities in the country, through field visits by inspectors of the Labour Inspection Department.

The labour inspectors and the occupational safety and health inspectors at the ministry visited the workplaces and workers’ accommodations and communicated with companies the need to provide educational leaflets, advice and preventive measures  to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, in addition to raising awareness about the conditions and specifications for adequate housing and occupational health and safety.
