Residents and visitors of all backgrounds will have the opportunity to live the Ramadan experience throughout the holy month at Mall of Qatar (MoQ), it was announced. Every day from 7 pm to 1 am, children are invited to learn Arabic calligraphy, create prayer pads, lanterns, puppets and much more in an arts and crafts area near West Gate 1 facing Salam Department Store.
A henna station is also available, dedicated to creating beautiful designs for visitors of all ages.
At weekends, a storyteller will bring to life traditional stories at the activation area and everyone can enjoy traditional Oud and Kanoon at the Oasis from 9 pm to 12.30am. The nation’s mall is adorned with decorative elements, providing a welcoming ambiance that reminds visitors of the true essence of this special occasion. Additionally, MoQ partnered with a new tenant: Qinwan, a Qatari company specialized in the international trade of the finest dates, to offer visitors daily Arabic coffee and dates every day from 6.30pm to 7.30pm and 9.30pm to 11.30pm.
“Ramadan Kareem to all, we look forward to welcoming everyone to experience the traditions of Ramadan at the nation’s mall.” MoQ CEO Stuart Elder said. On the 14th day of Ramadan at 9 pm, MoQ will be hosting an educative play on the traditional Garangao celebration in collaboration with Qatar Cancer Society with gifts of sweets for all children throughout the mall.
MoQ will be extending its opening hours with restaurants and cafes open for Iftars to as late as 2 am.
