Emir meets Sri Lankan FM, ICC chief prosecutor

His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met yesterday with Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ravi Karunanayake and his accompanying delegation at his office at Al Bahr Palace. The meeting reviewed relations of co-operation between the two countries and means of enhancing and promoting them in all fields, especially in  the political areas and economic partnership. Talks also dealt with the latest regional and international developments, mainly the Gulf crisis. The Sri Lankan minister stressed his country’s stance to resolve the crisis through constructive dialogue.  


Right: His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met yesterday with the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Fatou Bensouda, at his office at Al Bahr Palace. They reviewed the latest developments in the region, particularly the aftermath of the GCC crisis and the violations of international accords and human rights committed by the four siege countries. Bensouda praised Qatar’s handling of the crisis. The meeting also dealt with co-operation ties between Qatar and the ICC. 

*In her meeting with HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, Bensouda expressed regret over the human rights violations committed by the quartet that imposed air, sea and land blockade on Qatar. She praised Qatar’s mature way of dealing with the crisis.
