Early morning fog to hit visibility

Poor visibility due to fog is expected in the southern parts of Qatar in the early hours today, the Met department has said.

Visibility may drop to 2km or less during this period, according to the weather report.

On Sunday, the Met department had said numerical weather prediction charts indicated that a “state of atmospheric instability” was expected to affect the country due to the “extension of an upper-level low pressure system” from Tuesday until the end of this month.

Heavy and thundery rain is expected in the country from Thursday (November 24) until Saturday (November 26) in view of the expected conditions. The weather office has also issued a warning for offshore areas during this period, advising people to avoid sea activities.

Meanwhile, the detailed forecast for inshore areas today says hazy to misty/foggy conditions are likely in the southern areas at first, followed by a mild daytime and some clouds. It will be relatively cold by night.

Fine to hazy conditions are expected in offshore areas at times, which will also be partly cloudy.

A minimum temperature of 15C is expected in Mesaieed and Wakrah today, while in Doha it will be relatively higher at 22C. The maximum, on the other hand, will be 29C in Doha.
