EAA, Chevron Phillips support education for poor students

Education Above All (EAA) Foundation has announced a contribution from Chevron Phillips Chemical Co Qatar, which will see the chemical producer invest QR385,000 in EAA’s Together Project.

While EAA Foundation continues to tackle deep-rooted socioeconomic and geographic barriers hindering children’s education across its globally renowned programmes, Together Project was launched in 2016 to bring opportunities to out-of-school-children of expatriates in Qatar from disadvantaged backgrounds. To date, Alsilm schools, part of the Together Project, have enrolled 1,496 students of 22 different nationalities, both

Arabic and non-Arabic speaking.

The sponsorship by Chevron Phillips Chemical comes as part of the company’s corporate vision of performance by design, Caring by choice, whereby its aims to bring positive, measurable change to communities around the globe by making charitable investments and encouraging employee volunteerism

with various organisations.

“We strive to be the neighbour of choice in the communities where we operate and seek to invest in charitable programmes that improve lives around the world,” said Jay Bickett, vice president, Qatar, Chevron Phillips Chemical. “Together with Education Above All Foundation, we look forward to improving access to education for disadvantaged populations in Qatar.”

“Education Above All is proud to work alongside partners, like Chevron Phillips Chemical, as we strive to provide all students with the inclusive and equitable quality education. As a global company employing thousands, the company understands that talent exists everywhere regardless of socioeconomic status, and given the right opportunity, any student can thrive,” added Maryam al-Mannai, Together Project officer EAA.
