Drastic dip in Covid-19 cases in Qatar as 881 report positive on June 21

Ministry of Public Health today announced 881 new confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), 1,556 recoveries and 4 deaths in the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 68,319.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar till now stands at 87369 and there are 18952 active cases under treatment. So far, 98 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar. Ministry conducted 3098 tests in last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 320792 tests.

In the last 24 hours, 8 patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of critical cases that are currently in critical care to 221 cases.

The people who died today were receiving necessary medical care and were aged 37, 55, 61 and 69 years old. The ministry said while extending its sincere condolences and great sympathy to the families of the deceased.

Anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19 should either quickly contact the 16000 helpline or go directly to one of the designated health centeres for testing. This is important as the earlier the disease is detected the easier it will be to receive the right treatment and recover from it, ministry advised in a statement.

The main screening centers include Muaither Health Centre, Rawdat Al Khail Health Centre, Umm Slal Health Centre and Al Gharafa Health Centre.
