heikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) has dedicated one of its programmes, conducted in co-operation with the Holy Qur’an broadcasting service, to supporting Qatari debtors, local Arabic daily Al Sharq has reported.

The programme, where speakers urged people to support Qatari donors, received calls from several people willing to donate for the cause. Accordingly, around QR1mn has been donated for the benefit of Qatari debtors, the report states.

Regarding the selection of beneficiaries, the programme presenter said there is direct co-ordination between the community service department at RAF and the Public Prosecution to nominate names and select those whose requirements are more critical, according to the report.

The privacy of such persons and their families is maintained and a confidential statement is recorded, detailing the nature and circumstances of the problem faced by the debtor and other details, the report adds.
