Doha Municipality closes 12 food outlets in May for violating health rules

The Health Monitoring Section at Doha Municipality shutdown 12 food outlets for a period ranging between three to 30 days for violating health rules in May, 2020.

Most violations were related to preparing food in unhealthy conditions and food handlers were not carrying proper health certificates, said the Ministry of Municipality and Environment in a statement.

Municipal inspectors made 1,494 inspection visits to food outlets in which they recorded 61 violations at outlets operating across Doha Municipality in May.

The veterinary doctors checked 119,083 slaughtered animals at central slaughterhouse.

As much as 2,759 slaughtered animals were destroyed for being unfit for human consumption.
